I just spent two hours trying to clean up my old toaster oven!
I bought a new Sensio Toaster Oven yesterday because my old one was starting to look ratty-looking. One of my sisters had said she might like to take the old one and try it out to see if she wants to buy one. So, I felt like I needed to clean it up for her. It's a Black and Decker Toaster Oven. Well, it was pretty bad and it took me 2 hours! I still didn't get the little baking pan that came with it very clean. Is there any type of cleaning agent that will get off baked on grease and grime? The SOS pads were working, but I ran out of them. Plus, my arm is killing me from all the scrubbing!
How marvellous the `male` mind is!
I mentioned in a post yesterday that Mr Ruby came in the door with a lovely bunch of red roses for me.They were beautiful and very much appreciated. But shortly after,we were having a cup of tea,and the conversation turned to hammer drills, now im not sure why but alarm bells started ringing in my head!!and the conversation seemed to get `stuck` on hammer drills,no matter how I tried I couldnt change the subject.Well it seemed that Mr Ruby had seen a hammer drill that he had to have!!it was a this seasons must have accessory for me it appeared!!...so in the end,as per,I caved in,and felt that he had talked me into the idea of how useful this drill would be,that the price would never be as low again, that bargain drill,of which there was only one left on the shelf, had to be purchased!!!So the roses were the sprat to catch the mackerel..and he trotted off very happily and came back complete with the box under his arm,and my purse was a good bit lighter!!..but that was a brilliant little ploy, dont you think?
Would you get tagged?
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/05/14/radio-frequency-rfid-implant/?loomia_ow=t0:s0:a4:g4:r5:c0.000000:b0:z5 Scientists tag animals to monitor their behavior and keep track of endangered species. Now some futurists are asking whether all of mankind should be tagged too. Looking for a loved one? Just Google his microchip. The chips, called radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, emit a simple radio signal akin to a bar code, anywhere, anytime. Futurists say they can be easily implanted under the skin on a person’s arm.Already, the government of Mexico has surgically implanted the chips, the size of a grain of rice, in the upper arms of staff at the attorney general’s office in Mexico City. The chips contain codes that, when read by scanners, allow access to a secure building, and prevent trespassing by drug lords. In research published in the International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development, Taiwanese researchers postulate that the tags could help save lives in the aftermath of a major earthquake. "Office workers would have their identity badges embedded in their RFID tags, while visitors would be given temporary RFID tags when they enter the...
If you were dissatisfied with a store's attitude or service would you walk out?
Today my father and I went to a farm store to buy some stuff for our chickens and my gardening stuff. Well the older workers who have been there forever were helpful, but I noticed it was the younger ones who showed the worst customer service. In all my years of working in a store if a customer approaches asking for a price check the employee takes the item and brings it back with an answer. In this case they told my father to go to one desk and then another...etc. Not to mention we stood in line for nearly fifteen to twenty minutes because a guy was doing a return and it clearly stated that returns were only done on registers 1 and 2, we were on register four or five, and the cashier kept disappearing and even help check prices for others. I can put up with some frustration but when we got our turn my father asked to make sure the price was what he was told by the others, and it wasn't, he pushed the cart aside and said forget it. I agreed with him wholeheartedly. So off to Lowe's we went. Where the moment we entered we got service and the prices were slightly cheaper and even got a small Black and Decker cultivator (which I cannot wait to use tomorrow) for what we would have...
an affair with my rice cooker
When I came here to US, I left behind my family, friends, career and roots. I have sacrificed so much to be with the Love of my Life. But I don't miss my family and friends so much because I talk to them a lot now than when I was still home. And I have modern technology to thank that for.But if there is anything I miss... it's rice. Good thing I can buy rice here but the problem is, I don't know how to cook it without rice cooker. My in-laws are not rice either so they don't have one. Good thing we were given a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart as a wedding gift and I used it to buy a Black and Decker rice cooker and steamer. Now, I can cook rice and don't miss it that much now.
Craftsman Tools
Some of my favorite brands of tools are craftsman, black and decker, and Stanley tools. And some of my favorite makers of outdoor power equipment are Homelite,Craftsman, and Rioby. What about you do you have any favorite makers of tools or outdoor power equipment?
What would you do with your old pod coffee maker???
I have to make a decision here folks and need some help. I got a new coffee maker for Xmas a Senseo. I have a Black and Decker Home Cafe that I was using. Here is the problem. I am a member of www.freecycle.org and would love to pass on this coffee maker. However I have read about many faults with it and fires started due to overheating and turning itself on etc. While I have not had any of these problems, I don't want to endanger someone else. Should I recycle it or toss it???? Dilema Dilema Dilema...lol
