espresso maker caffe bist Discussions
| | How Many Different Ways Can You Make Coffee In Your Home? | | I have three coffee makers in my kitchen. 1) Standard North American 10-cup coffeemaker with cone-style filters2) Espresso maker with small metal filter, and 2-cup pot3) Stove-top pot with handle to brew Turkish CoffeeHow many coffee-makers do you own, and how do you use them? | |
| | Coffee question... | | I'm going tomorrow to buy my husband an espresso maker for Christmas. My question is, where do you buy the pods? I'll be purchasing the machine from WalMart, do they sell the pods there as well? It's not a very big city, so I want to make sure I can get them before I buy the machine and can't use it. We also have a kmart and starbucks, if they sell them in their stores. | |
| | Are you a coffee snob? | | I drove a taxi for years and could even drink coffee from the 7-11 after awhile and call it almost good. These days I am a snob. I make coffee at home in a bodum or the espresso maker with fresh ground beans. I stopped drinking the coffee at work because they were using Folgers and a drip coffee maker from a decade past. Now the new boss is a coffee guy and has introduced us to a fancy Starbucks coffee maker and Starbucks coffee. I am now truly spoiled and a snot when it comes to coffee and I admit tea. How about you can you drink any coffee or does it have to be a certain type made a certain way? | |
| | Have you ever created your own fantastic recipe? what was it? | | I absolutely love experimenting with food, and sometimes you have to use what you can out of your frige at the last moment, no cookbook!
one of my faves I discovered recently, is more than likely done at Starbucks.
but here goes;you will need;a coffee thermos that can hold 1 pot plus some
a coffee brewer
and espresso brewer
coffee grinder
your regular amount of coffeebeans
espresso from a can.
whipped cream in the can.
grind your beans, add to coffeepot and brew. add your espresso to espresso maker, and brew. (about2 cups)
add coffee to thermos, and then espresso.
fill mugs with coffee, add whipped cream and serve immediately!
indeed this is a favorite treat in my household, so,
what is your favorite? | |
| | espresso or coffee | | my espresso maker is put away for now. guess it lost it's flavor. great coffee, heckofa buz. but i lost interest in making them one at a time. do you have one? and are you still useing it? | |
| | saving money on lattes | | I used to be one of those, that bought Starbuck's every day;this lasted for about 6 months. One day,my brain FINALLY decided to work the math. Holy Cow!Ok, I needed a solution right then&there.I found an espresso maker at a second hand store for $12{it's still working to this day,almost 5 yras later}. I also splurged on a grinder from WalMart for like $15. I bought the Starbuck's whole bean espresso,chocolate syrup,adn other assorted flavored creamers. To this day, I average about $.030 or so on my lattes every day. I've even gotten good at recipes.. like the love bird{tasted like a chocolate covered cherry}For a 'venti':4 shots of espresso
1 1/2 cups of milk{ I use nonfat}
1 tbsp. chocolate syrup
a TINY dash of vanilla
1/2 - 1 tbsp pf cherry syrup{depending on your taste}
done!
I love it,but then I'm Italian and love to cook&stuff..lol
Happy New Year!,
